X10 Security System Differences
« on: April 28, 2007, 10:12:41 AM »

I'm posting this to see if I can get some more clarification on security systems offered by X10.  From what I see, there are 3 types:  Protector Plus, Monitor Plus, Pro2000. The differences that I see are these:

  • Protector Plus:
     - Built-In Powerhorn
     - No Orca Monitoring
     - Remote Powerhorn/Light(s) Flash via All UnitCodes under Selected HouseCode
     - Recorded Message Can Be Sent to 4 Telephone Numbers

  • Monitor Plus (OLD - 8700):
     - Built-In Powerhorn
     - Orca Monitoring
     - Remote Powerhorn/Light(s) FlashThrough Fixed Address A13

  • Monitor Plus (NEW - Pro2000/8700P):
     - No Built-In Powerhorn
     - Orca Monitoring

[TTA Edit: Formatted for improved readability and future reference; added what I knew off-hand. Others please chime in and either OP or I can update.]
