If you are refering to the "Video Sender Kit" VK82A and if your converter box has video and audio outputs, yes it will work. If you converter box only has RF (channel 3, channel 4, etc) out put, no. You would need some type of demodulator like video / audio output from TV or VCR, TiVo, etc.

Yeah those old VCR's are great for that! Can take an Antenna in... and output to RCA audio and video for the sender. And the sender/receiver acts as IR resenders also. So you can use the sender/receiver to send the remotes IR back to the VCR to change channels. It reads as more complicated than it is.

Yeah those old VCR's are great for that!...
Most of them anyway. I think one of the ones I have wouldn't pass the signal unless it was in record mode. Hmm... Maybe it was just the wrong setting of the TV/VCR switch. Anyway both of them have died so it's a mute point for those 2 VCRs.  :(

..... Anyway both of them have died so it's a mute point for those 2 VCRs. 

If the ones in your closet died... look in someone elses. Those old things are everywhere... yard and estate sales.. thrift stores.
