Entry #013

I build for a local school haunted house each year, and this year, X10 is the star of the show. I have serveral motion activated features :

1) Walk in front of a screeaming firetruck, lights and sirens blaring
2) Approach a casket and the ghoul inside starts knocking and screaming
3) Walk down the narrow hall that blows a tornadic (leaf blower) wind in your face
4) Walk through a spider's den and the spiders (shipping peanuts) kick up in your hair

All of these features their own ActiveEye motion detector. Some are shrouded in a toilet paper tube to narrow detection to a trip beam. I wrote a program using the PowerLinkII that detects any and all light on events, and then sends a corresponding off event 5 seconds later, thus allowing me to reset all the props using a single controller hooked to a laptop. The wireless nature of the motion sensors makes it a snap to set up and tweak - there simply is no substitute for motion controlling 120V props other than X10 and PowerLink. Thanks for the awesome products!

Since apparently nobody voted for anyone, either no Sentinel Camera is awarded or the contest gets reopened.
