Macros and Timers not working correctly Please help!
« on: October 10, 2007, 09:01:56 AM »

I need some help getting my macros to trigger correctly. What I have is a macro set up to turn a lamp  on at 5:15 am at 30% absolute. I can trigger the macro to run from AHP but it does not run properly at the the time specified. I also Have another lamp to do basically the same thing, however  It does turn on at the correct time but does not dim to the absolute value. I have noise filters and a phase coupler and have no problem controlling the macros from AHP. I leave the computer on all night and have cleared my macros and timers and re loaded them several times. i am at a loss. ALso I am having trouble getting my IR543 to trigger a macro on AHP. the activity logger reads that the command was recieved but it does not trigger the macro. ANy suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I have already swapped modules physically as well as tried changing the module in AHP  to a socket rocket.  I have recently recieved a replacemnt cm15a as well. I'm just simply out of ideas as to why this is not working correctly. I would greatly appreciate any ideas that I have not thought of

What type of modules are you using to control your lamps?

X10 on Windows is like that.

X-10 recently redesigned the LM465 (without changing the model number) and the new modules work a little differently than the old ones.

To distinguish new from old, open a new file and drag in the icon for the LM14A 2-way module set to the housecode and unit of your LM465.  Drag the brightness slider on the LM14A icon up and down a few times.  If the lamp connected to the the LM465 responds, then you have the new design.  Otherwise it's the old design.  Repeat the test for each of your LM465 modules.

It appears that I have the new design. But I am unclear as to how the behave differently

The major differences are listed here:
http://www.heyu.org/docs/New_LM465.txt

I tried creating a timed macro with one of the new design LM465 and it worked OK.

I suggest you try re-creating your AHP schedule from scratch, i.e., starting with a new file.  There have been problems like yours with AHP in the past - when an existing AHP file is edited, what's downloaded to the interface sometimes doesn't jive with the GUI.

Note: The actual execution time of a timed macro can be slow by up to one minute.

That seemed to do the trick. Creating a new file that is. For now this system seems stable. Thank you so much for your help
