dillscon,
Thank you for the link! It looks like I'm the one learning here.
I'm probably not telling you anything you haven't already figured out but, based on the link you provided, you XPT base and XP2D keypad do indeed look like they are incompatible (180 degree reversal from my previous post - gotta love it).
From the date codes you provided:
- Your XPT base (date code 06J43) was manufactured 10/06 (J= month - 10, 06 = year, 43 = week)
- You Keypad (date code 07E22) was manufactured 5/07 (E= Month = 5, 07 = year, 22 = week)
The manufacture date of your keypad is after the 07A05 date code in the link you provided for the new version ("A") cut in (January '07). In addition, your description of the "A" revision on the keypad matches the new configuration described in the link.
Sorry - it looks like you were correct. These units appear to be incompatible.
Other forum members have had success in calling X10 and having units replaced with "old stock". I don't know of anyone who has tried this with X10Pro devices (hasn't come up). It would obviously be easier to replace the keypad with an "old" version.
On the other hand, it you replace the base with a newer design you'll have far better access to replacement parts (or upgrades to different keypads) in the future.
Thanks for informing us of this issue. Let me know if there is anything else you can teach me!.
