I don't know if this has been addressed before, or if it is a popular subject.  But I would like to give my thoughts and see what others think.

It concerns the X-10.com web site.  I can understand them using attractive women to sell their products since their product audience is mainly young men.  However, as a married man and a christian, I would rather not open a daily email to see several skimpy dressed women, nor would I want my wife to see these emails. I am not just being a prude, I  am tempted by young attractive women just as much as any other man, but since the emails come daily I would rather not be bombarded with opportunities to lust.  Nor would I want my wife to open one of theses emails and think I am hooked on porn or something.  Isn't there another way to sell theses products?  Perhaps cute animals?  (Just kidding about the animals)  The use of a few attractive women would be ok I guess, but the excessive use of cleavage and bikinis is not really necessary. 

Just my opinion.

It's a fact of life that sex is a part of advertising. In most European countries there is far more than in the US. For me the models on the X10 ads are far less than offensive than pop ups or someone yelling "boo" at me when I log in.

One of the great things about the United States is it's freedom of religion. This gives you the right to have your own opinions and beliefs. When your beliefs differ from the majority of others, however, it's your responsibility to adapt. I'd suggest opting out of the emails and only go to the X10 site when needed. If your faith is strong, the temptation won't be a problem.

I called X10 to place another order and mentioned my comment to the man that took my order.  He completely understood and told me he gets the same comment at least 3-4 times a day.  So I may not be alone.  If I am the only one then yes I should just stop the emails.  I do purchase allot however and the emails sales are the driving factor so it would just be their loss.  I am only one person though and hardly significant to matter.  I just wondered if there are any others out there.  Are there any women on this forum?  How do they feel?

Yeah it gets mentioned every now-and-then.

All my family, wife, mom, and grown-kids know I shop at X10's Site... and spend time at the forum. They all also know what the Site looks like. The current state of marketing and sales (world-wide) is more-or-less sex based (you should see the commericals on my TV). It's a shame, but a fact of life. X10 uses lot of hype, gletter and flash on their Site but it works for them.

Being an old retired guy... I haven't experienced any lust when viewing the X10 Site. Also... Being an old retired guy I know... lust is where you find it... it doesn't reside anywhere.

Did you know.... you can turn HTML images OFF?

I will say this.... I think it has toned down some from about this time last year.  So with that said X10 is trying to keep some glamor girls while not showing the same content as a year ago.

Good marketing practice used to dictate that the product associated picture, would relate to the product or the product's use in some way.

X10 wastes a lot of valuable space on totally unrelated bimbo pix. So obviously the X10 marketing VP doesn't agree. However, I figure he has only been out of high school a year or so...

Absolutely a photoshop (happily married man here). I enjoy creating images for fun.. and make a point to never deceive with them. I hope others also enjoyed the (intended) humor (it was halloween).
