RR501 Will Turn Off, Won't Turn On
« on: November 29, 2007, 08:33:00 PM »

Using the RR501 to control a set of lights. When using the remote, it'll respond to turn off command but will not respond to a turn on command. I have to manually turn on the RR501. Please advise.

Pretty wierd that a RR501 will only turn OFF, but not ON via an RF remote (assuming the remote is always the same distance from the RR501).

Bad ON button on the remote? Since the RF remotes have seperate buttons for ON and OFF, do you have another remote to try? Or switch the RR501 to the other unit code (1 or 9) and try again.

The RR501 is a transceiver that translates RF signals from various devises (like a Stick-A-Switch) and send X10 signals over the power line. What type of remote control are you  using?  If you can turn the RR501 on, but not off sounds like the remote is failing.

My two RR501s have the same addresses as a lamp/appliance module with the same address as the RR501. Both are established in Active Home Pro and if I turn on lamp A1 by the Stick-A-Switch, AHP will show both the lamp and the RR501 as on, likewise if turn lamp A1 off from the Stick-A-Switch, AHP shows both as off.
