« on: November 29, 2007, 08:55:09 PM »

I am new to X10 and I cannot get the LM465 modules to work.  I have readdressed them and they still will not operate.. Any ideas?

Please provide more details.   Are you using ActiveHome Pro and a CM15A to transmit the X10 signals?

I am using the CM15A to transmit.  I cannot get the LM465 to work on any other outlet other than the one the CM15A is connected to .  Is the location of the CM15A critical to operation ?  It is currently located in a receptical that my pc is also connected to.  Willl the pc interfear with the CM15A operation?

Several possibilites come to mind:
1. Are both your PC and the CM15A plugged into a surge suppressor plug strip?   The surge suppression is blocking the X10 signal.

2, The PC power supply has heavy capacitive filtering across the AC line which is attenuating the X10 signals.  (This is very common.)

You'll probably see some improvement if you plug the CM15A into an extension cord from a different outlet, but for best results you should get an X10 noise filter (XPPF - about $10 including S&H on eBay) to insert between your PC and the AC line.

Thanks for the info I will try the movement of the CM15A to a different location.
