CM15A transmit range
« on: December 07, 2007, 10:32:08 AM »

All the modifications I've seen address the CM15A's poor receive issues. When setting up my camera, I discovered that at least my CM15A also has a poor RF transmit range also. i.e. It was unable to send a signal even less than 50 ft to my Sentinel. The remote would reach the camera from further so I know the challenge is with the CM15A.

In my case, I was lucky that by moving it about 6 ft over and 4 ft up I was able get it to work.

I've never been inside my CM15A but have been told there is a separate circuit for this RF transmission and that the well known mods don't address this transmit problem.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have had the same problem with the Ninja's. My palmpad has better range then the CM15A. I used the RF repeater and was able to get the Ninja's to work. Since I did the "F" connector mod for receive and have the antenna about 25 feet away I don't see why you couldn't pop in another "F" connector and wire in the transmit side. (That's provided the problem lies in the antenna being the wrong wave length. Never measured it)

Yes the F connector mod addressed the receive distance and there is a Transmit Module inside the CM15A. Its antenna; in mine are Hot Glued to the case.
