TouchLinc - X10 capable?
« on: April 21, 2010, 09:12:05 PM »

Hey Brian H, I bet you have one of these in beta or at least have one on order.  :o
Too bad it will not do X10.

No. I no longer do beta.
No. I no longer buy a first run Insteon product. Burned too many times and the SDK members get no added data from them anymore.
Lets just say my impulse Insteon goodies buys are over.

I understand that.

I'm waiting for a clear winner in the HA field before even considering going to another standard. I thought Z-Wave/Zigbee was inching ahead of UPB and Insteon until the Leviton engineer admitted that the larger a Z-wave system gets, the slower it runs... with a mear 35 units being the "optimum".

Somewhere in the basement I have a Betamax and a HD-DVD, so I'm sitting this one out.  :'

But gotta admit, the TouckLinc is appealing.

One question: does the Insteon portion of your system operate faster than X10?

Thanks
