Lamp Module LM15A - Won't Program, What am I doing wrong?
« on: January 21, 2008, 11:10:38 AM »

I am new to X10! Just bought a package and got it installed. Everything works great!

I can't seem to get the two LM15A Socket Rocket Screw-In Lamp Modules to program.

I have an HR12A PalmPad Remote Control, RR501 Wireless Transceiver and the PC USB
transceiver. I have followed the instructions and turned on the lamp the LM15A is
plugged into and within a 30 second period hit the on button of the code on the
PalmPad three times in one second intervals. The lamp should have lighted if the
code was accepted but it never turned on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

BN

I use a MC460 to program a LM15.   No muss no fuss.

Try putting the lamp with LM15A and the RR501 in the same outlet for setting it up.
After programming you can move the lamp and RR501.
The LM15A will remember its address even when moved.
If the module sets correctly but does not work in the place you want it, you may have a signal problem to that area. That could also be why you can't set them.
If you can't set them even in the same outlet. They maybe DOA.

A1 is the default. Can you turn it on and off with A1?
Regular incandescent bulbs?
When you first apply power is the LM15A off or stuck on?

Hey Brian:

No.... Unfortunately, neither of the two units I have that came as part of the kit I bought work. I have tried through the
PC with the software and the wireless handheld using house code A1 but no luck.

I may have to return them. Unless anyone has any other suggestions?!?!?!?!?

    Thanks for the help.

Regards,
