I have recently started adding X-10 modules to my home.

After some issues programming my first module, a WS467, I have moved on the the garage and a WS477/CS277.  The WS477 works great, on,off, dim by remote, but the CS277 is eluding me.  I can get it to turn the lights off, but not on.

Is this a symptom of something simple?  Might I have a bad switch?

The CS477 itself is nothing more than a "doorbell" type pushbutton switch - if it does anything at all it's not defective.

That's not to say that the WS477 is not defective, but it's more likely the WS477 and CS277 are wired incorrectly.  Recheck your wiring against the provided wiring diagram.  It's often difficult to determine which wires go where in the two switchboxes.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it doesn't work.
X10 on Windows is like that.
