Off is On - On is Off
« on: March 06, 2008, 02:07:15 PM »

Sorry to ask - this has probably been asked before - but I can't find the answer. I've tried everything that I can think of to get the software and the actual module state in sync but nothing I've tried seems to work. Using Activehome Pro - latest version, CM15A controller, and PAO11 wall module. Tried with AM466 Appliance module and was out of sync also. Tried clearing interface, rebooting computer, using remote to turn off and on. My OS is Windows Vista and AC Pro seems to work fine except for the on/off thing. Please help.....

Since AHP sends either an "ON" command or an "OFF" command there should be no way the appliance module and AHP could get out of sync UNLESS the appliance module is not receiving the signal reliably. Trouble shoot from that angle. If the module is not receiving the signal it could be a "noise" or "phase coupling" problem. Search the forum for those terms.

WOW.... do I feel stupid! I was looking at the switch thinking that it was an ordinary light switch type switch where up would be on and down would be off. After your reply I looked closer and and if I look at it as a rocker type switch then all is well. I was looking at the switch position rather than the little green light on the switch. Sorry for being so dumb! I promise that I won't have children!

Don't feel bad, that graphic is poorly designed.  It took me forever to get used to how it looks in on vs off.

Please reconsider... the world has more smart people than we need. What we need are more nice people!

Thanks for reporting back.

All the graphics in AHP are backward to me.

I am use to "grayed out" meaning the option is not only unselected, but it isn't even available to be selected.  In AHP, "grayed out" means selected.
