X-10 In A Travel Trailer?
« on: April 12, 2008, 04:49:05 PM »

Hi!

Is there any way to hook up X-10 to work on the 12v system in a travel trailer - have a motion sensor outside somewhere and when triggered, one of the 12v lights (LED) inside the trailer goes on for a specified period, all working somehow off the battery? Kind of an "alert" if dry camping somewhere out in the boonies?

Thanks for any thoughts!

Michelle

Yes and No!
X10 uses 110volt in North America
How ever if you were to get a small  Pure Sine Wave inverter you could plug in a TM751 and then a 110 lamp into it!
A modified inverter won't work for long before you burnt up the TM751! :(

You could stop at your local Harbor Frieght Tools and pick-up a Driveway Alert  <link.
