help with pool light
« on: August 17, 2008, 06:59:12 PM »

Thanks, X10, for availing this forum that may provide the help we need to finally gain use of our pool light.

We have a Fiberstars FS5R-C pool light that did not come with the plug in remote control.  We do have, however, an X10 Powerhouse transreceiver module (Model No. RR501) and an X10 black keypad (model PHR02).

Despite changing batteries in the black keypad and manipulating both X10 devices exhaustively, we cannot turn our pool light on.  Would someone please tell us how to coordinate usage of these two devices so that we may turn our pool light on?

Thank you much,

jas

You need an appliance module on the pool light that will receive the signal from the PHR02).  The RR501 takes RF signals from a SS13 "Stick-a-Switch" and convert it to X10 signals to control a module, for an example.  You really don't need the RR501 to do what you want.

Plug the pole light into the RR501. Set the house code on both the RR501 and the PHR02 to A and set the unit code on the RR501 to 1. Make shure the slide switch is set to the left (1) on the RR501. Press 1 on on the PHR02. The light should turn on.
