Is there a method to force a module DS10A to use a specific address, not at random.

You need to first select an addressable module, such as a light module. Set the address, and then change the module type back to the security switch. The address should stick.

would have revealed this and have saved you some time

for future issues check the stickies in each section! I've spent many hours putting them together and to see my efforts go to waste!
Sure an advanced search would most likely turn up your answers as well
but many don't want to read threw a dozen or more post to find the answer!
