Thanks for purchasing gaby.  Hopefully you won't mind doing an Itunes AppStore review?  It is easy to do right from your device and one sentence will do. :)
I submitted a favorable review several weeks ago, but it never appeared. Hrumph.

X10 Commander can send OFF and ON and DIM and BRIGHT commands to any X10 address. If your alarm responds to those, it will work for you. Note that you must have a PC running the X10 Commander server. It won't work if the PC connected to your CM15A (or whatever X10 interface you use) is off.

Yes. WiFi is easy. 3G takes a little work. Plenty of info at the X10 Commander forum.

What about a Blackberry Ap?    -:)

I can't even seem to find a VNC program for it...  :(

I guess I'll have to settle for emailed pictures for now...  :'

To run VNC on a Blackberry, check out VNC+
It can be obtained from this link http://software.crackberry.com/product.asp?id=9876

I have been using this on my Curve 8330 for about a year and it works as advertised. Easy to setup and use and the connection has been very reliable.

I'm using this and it really is excellent and very simple.

For just on/off and dim operations it removes the need for ActiveHome completely.

It would be nice if there was a lite version with maybe 1 or 2 'switches' so you could try it first though. I took the plunge (£5.99) and haven't regretted it.

If you've got an iPhone it's a must, IMHO :)

Dam your really lucky to get it worling. I been tring for 3 days to get it work. I think its a big waste of time and money. I spent all together i spent $40 for what. I allmost throw my phone aand laptop across the dam room. Going to try and send the x10 stuff back

I gave up on its after 3 DAM days tring to get it to work on 3g. They need to have step by step how to do it or one sfotware to get it all setup. I think its CRAP. they need to take it off the app store

I have heard of such levels of frustrations... and to be honest... many years ago even felt some real frustration when I could not figure out how to configure and operate a [what was then a very pricey] sheetbed scanner. But I've never heard of allowing such frustration levels to help in the use of any recent technology. Have you posted your problem... or maybe just searched and read at: http://forum.melloware.com

I strongly disagree. It works fine for me, and for many other users, over both WiFi and 3G. If you follow the instructions at the X10 Commander Forum, you will get it working.

Tybirdtybird, what X-10 alarm system do you have ?  What remotes are you using to control it?
Part numbers go a long way to helping out with getting stuff to work together.

I just downloaded the new version, but the installer didn't let me change the install location.
I manually moved the files after the installation.
I prefer to place it in a different folder, as permissions to C:\Program files(x86) in windows 7 do not allow the log file to be written properly.

Melloware

The log is now being written to C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\X10 Commander which your user does have permission to write to.

In X10 COmmander UI there is a now a "Log File" button right on the main screen that opens your log file in Notepad for you.
