keychain and nano remotes
« on: December 08, 2008, 01:41:03 PM »

Just wondering what other peoples' experiences are with these things. Are they worth trying? How long do they last for?

My experience is to tell you to stay away from the KR22A credit card one the range sucks at least for me 2 feet with new batteries!
The only thing in my setup that I have a range issue with! ::) :'
The KR18A I will recommend I've been using mine for years without replacing the batteries, But I'm sure the day will come soon! ::) :'(
I guess I don't use it as much as some would! ???
I get about 50 feet with it! Not bad for a small remote!

OK thanks Tuicemen. But just to be sure, you mean the KR19A (or is there a KR18A?) That's the 2 unit one, right?

Glad I asked!

How about the LM465's ? Are they OK or do they have "issues" as well?

I'm asking because I saw I package with a floodlight, 3LM465, 1KR19A,1tm751, 2ss13a, and a socket rocket for $49.99 which I'm considering. Is that a good deal?

Well dug out all my X10 stuff for Christmas lights but found the range of my keychain remote (KR22A) for be about 5-6 feet. Seems last year I had the Transceiver  in a different room and it worked fine?? Tried new batteries but no change. What is the usable range on the KR22A?

......... What is the usable range on the KR22A?

It's really hard to tell what anyones range will be. I've had very good results with the smaller KR19A and my step-daughter loves the KR22A. She uses the KR22A from inside her car... parked on the street. The range depends so much on local conditions... that can interfer with the Radio frequency of the little remote. Could it be something has change in your environment since last year?
