If you'd like to email X10 it really isn't difficult.. it's almost like they encourage it. At the top of this page you will see a series of links:

I don't think their customer service is any better with this issue than any others.. quite simply, it sucks.  It's very evident they only care about the bottom line, and crossing lines (be it customer service, or porno advertising) appear to be part of their overall business culture.  It's been bad for years, and it's getting exponentially worse.

When I first discovered x10 many years ago, I had a problem getting into the x10 site because it had been flagged by my spam control as a malicious spam/marketing site due to their unscrupulous email campaigns.  I’ve watched for many years while people have complained about various x10 issues.  99% of the time, it’s the same outcome.  The issue gets worse.  What good does emailing them do?

It’s too bad really.. x10 has some cool stuff.  But as it’s already been pointed out here numerous times, there are many other products that do the same thing, and many other places to get them.  Sure, you can come back here every day wasting time to try and find their daily deals to get a good price.. But is it worth the time and effort?  And when you think about it, why would they all of a sudden be selling a product 5 for 1?  Does that not suggest the actual value of the product in the first place?

Maybe the half naked broads somehow increase this value..

I just sent my email bashing them. I guess it was worth the 2 minutes to write. Even if they don't listen least I feel I did about as much as I can.

Some of us have opted for the text only version of the email.  IF everyone goes emailing X10 about the porn, they'll know that the emails are working.  Therein lies the old adage: There's no such thing as bad advertising!

You really want to fix this thing with x10?  Send them 1 email stating that you intend to boycott their websales.  Then go to ebay, or the automated outlet,  or where ever else you please.

When the web based sales at x10 dry up, they'll change.  Until then, this thread serves as free publicity for x10.com.

(I'll get off my soapbox for now.  Thanks for listening.)

Addendum:
I know that you can't always get the same great deals from the other guys as you can get from X10, but sometimes a positive change requires a little sacrifice.  Check out the affiliate portion of the forum.  I'm sure that any of those fine folks would love you running your purchases through them instead of the main page.

Sorry guys... I can't think that way. How can I suck-up useful information here at the forum... then buy my supplies elsewhere. That doesn't seem right.

I removed my image [avatar] the other day... my first step with disassociation.

To be clearer. Since I have mixed more than one protocol in my setup. I needed a X10Pro XPF. I don't think X10 even has one on their site and most dealers I have seen want >$35.00 for one. My new one was much less costly. I have bought from X10s site things like a MT13A so I could help others with their projects.

You will probably never find any site; but X10s; selling things like 5 LM15A Socket Rockets or 6 HR12A Palm Pads for the price of one.

I think its easier for them to try and attract people through visual aids rather than coming up with decent product that sells itself. Their old decrepid software and hardware is outdated and they don't come up with anything new so they have to sell this stuff with the sexy ads..

Real all time low for x10  :(

That is the impression the ads give isn't it. The fact is:  That X10 has lead the way in home automation for many years. The CM15A interface with all of it's faults is still the best of it's type on the market. I am convinced Home Automation is a niche market.. hardware and software may never sell in volumes that would allow quicker change than X10 has brought. The new half-naked marketing makes X10 look like they are selling "X-Ray glasses" looking for the immature and gullible.

I know I cannot control the actions of those I assocate with... I can only control my associations. I fear the ads reflect poorly on me. I am no longer proud of my association with Home Automation and X10 products.

If it bothers you, you should seriously avoid the tent sale right now and whatever you do DO NOT scroll down to the USB video capture dongle ad. You may faint! ;D
