Should X10 take the half naked woman off their web site!!!

So lets start a POLL... Since X10 has shown a interest in the Forum again and are looking for suggestions!!
We can find out how many of the users want a change or not.

I like half naked women (and domotic's) as much as any man.... but there is a time and place (PLEASE) for everything. The time for these ad's was when I was 14... and the place was a magazine. The ad's with the women here.. are in bad taste.

There was a time (not that long ago) I was proud of my involvement with X10, and the forum. I've been compelled to re-think things since the big"slut format-conversion". I changed my custom Avatar (which was my own image) to get some more anonymity here. And now when I show off my setup to visitors... I refer to it as "Smarhome technology". I have X10 instructional (and entertainment) Youtube videos. The earliest I posted back in Aug 11th, 2006 and won an X10 contest with. I wonder... if I should have those posted where I sometimes also post family videos.

The current X10 Web Site has left me feeling betrayed and embarrassed. What keeps me coming back... is a belief that X10 will do the right thing and UN-do this half-naked format.

X10 is shooting themselves in the foot with a shotgun.

They really need to start figuring out why their factory QA/QC is going down the tubes. Instead they surf for trollup pictures and play their violin.

Actually, I think their QA manager (software) must have taken over the hardware side... about the same time as the CM15A RF antenna was designed.... and this is coming from a QA manager (software).

I have been thinking about the fact that the ads are in poor taste. Auto manufacturers use to do this to advertise poorly designed automobiles. Is there any correlation? I have macros that won't even activate a simple light, yet they feel confortable degrading the perception of their product with these ads. I was under the impression that companies had learned their lesson years ago.

I am female and, while I understand why they do it, I find it makes their site look tawdry and rinky-dink.

Your ahead of me as far as understanding why they have chosen this new format. But I do agree about what it does to the perception of X10.

Since the introduction of half-naked ads... about [a rough guess] one out of every 14 posts have been complaints about the new ads. So I can pretty much assure you that the new format doesn't set well with the forum membership. I can absolutely assure you... the ads couldn't be further from what I believe X10 could or SHOULD be.

Everyday I come to the forum to help out with what posts I can. Everyday I am forced to reconsider how being a part of the forum reflects on me. I have no authority (or desire) to apologise for anyone other than myself.... and at this point I am not sure... if I have done anything wrong. But I do realize that at some point... I will ether have to except I am a part of this... or I will need to disassociate myself from it. I've been hoping X10 will just drop the ads.

I don't think being a forum contributor and sage has any connection to the X10 porno site. Admittedly X10 maintains the forum but we, the users, are independant of that. I understand what you are saying and I feel the same, but I really don't feel a connection to X10's lurid tastes. I view it like; riding a city bus does not mean I agree with or condone the placard ads.

Oh I agree! Like I said: "at this point I am not sure... if I have done anything wrong."

But as a responsible mature adult... I realize the "I wasn't the one " or "it wasn't me " excuse just doesn't cut it. Seeing a bad thing happen, doesn't make me at fault. Standing by and watching bad things happen... is wrong.

For now... complaining here... and contacting X10 by email, and phone (and/or letter) is enough that I can hold my head up.

Got a email about 1am today... "X10 greatest deal ever" THe pictures were alittle better!!!
I mean they still used woman but they were clothed and not covering their nipples  Getting better or just using old ads??
It even had a add about a RF ranger extender and I thought they stopped selling those?

I myself find it hard to refer people to the web site, because of the Half Naked Women... There have been several people at work interested in the X10 stuff, but I kind of blow them off. They need to focus more on the product and not the Eye Candy!

Not to mention all the Tongue Lashings I get from the wife.............

Your right Don n .....but that's a horse I will beat over and over cause I do believe someone there is looking at this forum and maybe they might figure it out but if not at least I feel I have done all I can do to tell them they should change it.


Its wrong in more ways then I can count and I myself haven't bought anything from that site since they started the naked ad stuff. I mean for real grow up and just sell automation stuff.
