Also another problem people are having with the VA12A is not enough power from their USB ports. It's my understanding that the VA12A pulls A LOT of power... I too had the same problems with mine. Go out and get a POWERED USB HUB, then plug the VA12A into the Powered Hub. It helped with mine and haven't had any problems since...

Another thing: What system are you running? XP, Vista?

Does anyone know whether the USB version makes a difference? I run my VA12A on a USB 1.1 port (P4 2.8ghz, 2gig RAM XP machine.) With the latest AHP, I get GPFs (general fault protection) and with AHP 3.228, the VA12A doesn't even work (all cameras return a screen full of interferance.)

A USB 2.0 port is much faster, more reliable, and can put out more juice if needed. I haven't tried the VA12A on a 2.0 port since I run Windows 7 on the machine that has 2.0 ports and don't want to break anything on it at this point.

Thanks,

Frank
