ir543 storm
« on: January 25, 2009, 05:35:46 PM »

My ir543 works fine in some outlets but not others.

In the outlets that do not work, I get an X10 storm. For example if I press All Lights Off, the send light stays on and it repeats the command forever.
The command is being seen by the controller and the computer software.
Of course the outlets that are not working are the ones I need to use.

Any clues what this is about?

They IR port might be facing a TV? My Ir543 will send allot of commands if it is facing a light like the TV when it does do it the red led on the IR543 stays on and no other remote or AHP can send a signal then.

Just something to check

Thanks,
Your comment got me thinking. It's not the TV but another device. We have someone hard of hearing in the house so I added some TV Ears. This operates on IR and must be causing the 543 to go nuts. The 543 works fine when I turn the TV Ears off.
Now I have to figure out how to isolate it...

Any ideas?

Might be easiest to buy a 900MHz set of wireless headphones!   ;)
