We have ran in to this before...what vista you running? and is your AHP 3.236

If its Vista 64 I think they never got it running right. They downgraded to another version of windows.

Could also try down grading your AHP back to the 3.204 version and then hit the upgrade button to take it to 3.228. These versions of AHP are alittle less buggy then the newer one 3.326

I'm sure the others will post in a bit... maybe I AM forgetting something

You need to downgrade to AHP 3.204 here is the link:
http://software.x10.com/pub/applications/activehome/        the file is named ahp_updt_204.exe

Install it over the 3.236 you have then when you open AHP 3.204 go to the help menu and Click update....... This will give you version
3.228 and should work

There is also a forum just for BVC at www.wgjohns.com

Here is a link to the other poster that had the same problem.

OK the problem was with vista speech recognition not being set up. As long as its running i am able to open bvc. The next problem is the fact that the computer wont even acknowledge me. The speech recognition works well in vista however bvc struggles. I have managed to once get it to understand me. vista's speech recognition has to be open at the same time. Am i doing something else wrong?

From what I understand Vista speech recognition has to be running at the same time! A windows thing not a BVC issue.
The Same is for windows 7 but it plays very well with BVC in my tests!

Did you do the downgrade to AHP 3.204 then to 3.228... That way we know for sures its not AHP 3.236 BVC and Vista fighting each other?
