Help with 4-way Set-up
« on: November 23, 2008, 04:04:22 PM »

Trying to get a 4-way switch set-up to work.  I am using 1 WS477 and 2 CS277.  I have successfully attached the ends of the circuit (WS477 to 1 CS277), but it stops working when I add the center or 2nd CS277.  I would assume this means I have the Ends corrected connected correctly.  The WS477 is connected to three black wires (1920s home) - the End CS277 is connected as follows:

1. red to red
2. black to blue
3. white to blue.

I have tried variations on the center switch without success, but believe the following would be correct (but is not working):

1. red to red
2. white and 1 black wite (there are 2 black wires) to blue
3.  2nd black wire to blue

When I do this combination I can get the light to turn on, but the switch has no affect.  Any assistance is greatly appreciated -

If you haven't got this working yet let me know and I will try to help.
