SC546A Problem
« on: February 22, 2009, 08:12:40 PM »

OK, I hope someone can help me... I recently purchased a SC546A as part of an X10 bundle.  I had it forwarded to me outside the U.S. so when it didn't work, it didn't make sense economically for me to ship it back.  It chimes when I plug it in, but that is all.  So, being adventurous I opened the unit, and found that there were some broken wires.  There is a transformer in the upper corner of the circuit board, with two wires coming out.  Holding the circuit board so the transformer is in the upper right corner, the one on the right closest to the edge goes to the middle of the buzzer.  The other lead was broken, and there was a broken wire coming off the outer edge of the buzzer.  I thought it was simply a matter of connecting the broken ends of the wires, but that didn't solve it...  were they suppose to be connected elsewhere?

I found a schematic for the SC546 (not A) but I don't know enough about reading schematics to make sense of it...

Can anyone help me get my chime working?

Thanks

What voltage and frequency is Trinidad & Tobago on?  X10 equipment for US/Canada is 120volts, 60HZ.
