Hi All,

Just wanted to share my experience with the VT38A floodcam...
As many in the forum, I experienced the problem of having the VT38A not turning off after the sensor activated it...  I tried all settings for each control (Night/Day  and  Min/Max time)... with no success.

Days ago, I simply tried the following : I changed the light bulbs... I used to have 70 W halogen floodlights (outdoors rating)... now I installed standard incandescent 65W floodlights...

Now the VT38A works as it is supposed to work... and turns off !
And it's been working fine for almost a week now.

Hope this helps the forum folks that are experiencing the same problem !

Anybody else find this worked that's the only reason I haven't bought one. I really wanted to buy 150 watt bulbs.

"The Dual Floodlight Motion Detector is completely weatherproof and can be used with incandescent or halogen bulbs rated for 150W".

I think it is the Halogen bulb that creates the problem, but I don't understand why.

gringler didn't mention it, but the VT38A is a 3 unit camera/floodlight package. 3 separate camera/floodlight units.

Say thanks alot think all the bugs are out of these floodlights? or are there some things I should be concerned about.

Gringler,

I would like to add that to correct the Floodcam behavior you need to use the 65W incandescent bulbs and House code D1. I know it doesn't make sense, but after testing out all the House codes and Unit codes combinations, I found out that the D1 is the one that is not causing issues with the VT38As.

Seems to be a programming issue.
The floodcam re-evalautes whether to turn off the lights after time has passed,
not based on whether it decided to turn them on earlier.
