It's funny you say that, cuz I went on the help chat with smarthome and they said what I reiterated ...the wireless stuff will talk but the wired will not ...so how do I resolve this other than to try it out?

ok ...with some googlin' I found this "USA X-10 @310 MHZ and Powermids @418/433MHZ" ...if so, that augers for your response which saves me a lot of hassles and wasted effort as, for one who is not a solder jockey, it is MUCH easier to just buy the correct thing...  the statement quoted came from here: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5131 and thus, as the author lists as "Just Gettin' Started" I wanted to check on it (although the appelation seems to be server assigned depending only on the number of posts).  ...tia!! #:)

US and Canada 310 MHz as mentioned. 433.92 MHz for Europe. Much easier to get the correct stuff and if you use the 310MHz stuff. I believe it is not allowed legally overseas, by the country it is being used in.

The Powermid is on 418 MHZ and the new dual RF Icon Remote does both 310 MHz for X10 control and 418 MHz for a Powermid Receiver. Used to remotely control a entertainment device.

Most of my data comes from the FCC database of accepted devices. Search for X10s prefix B4S and you will find many devices. Some even with schematics.

Once you get the X10 signal on the power line it is 120 KHz no matter where in the world you are. Since it is timed to the power line the 50 Cycle contries signals take more time to be sent.

Where you talking X10 or Insteon over Smarthome?

I have x10 and smarthome devices in the usa ...I don't have anything yet for eventual use in Belgium 220v50Hz ...I see some vendors selling stuff for Belgium though referenced from www.x10europe.com links & goooogle.

The x10europe.com site shows all their devices using the 433.92 RF frequency.

and so, I conclude, nothing whatsoever that I have here in the USA will work with any of that... including the cm17a which is a great little device here!!  ...thanks!! :)%  in return for all these replies, when I get up and running in BE I will report here...
