Number of Cameras
« on: March 14, 2009, 11:00:00 AM »

I know I have posted asking how many cameras AHP can hold... And the answer was 8.

Is there anyway to increase this number?

I don't know who told you it was 8.  AHP can hold a lot more cameras than 8! Although i personally have never had more than 12 hooked up at one time.

I have a software program that i bought a long time ago that holds 16!

I would think that you have 256 codes to play with, you could, could i say probably have 256 cams.  Whether they work or not that is the question.  They should as long as your x10 system is reliable. (phase coupler, noise filters, within range, etc...)

I don't know who told you it was 8.

Actually, it was you.  :P

But the question didn't actually ask what the maximum is, just how many do you have. So it was an easy misinterpretation.  ;)

Multi Cams--- How Many??

I'm surprised that post slipped by without additional comments. I will add to it as well to try and remove any ambiguity.

However, you are right, there are 256 X10 addresses, so you could conceivably have that many cameras before more than one would be turned on at once.

Yep, I remember the "other" question about how many cams do you have, which is 8.  I guess it was a misunderstanding.  ???  ;)

I've got 9 cameras, and 5 of them are plugged into 3-pin appliance modules. My receiver is also plugged into an appliance module. This setup usually works OK although lately all my cameras will just turn off for some strange reason that I think might be due to a motion sensor. Then again, it could be AHP. I don't even know where to begin to try and sort it out. It's getting complicated!
