PCC, a replacement for AHCMD? ???
I never thought of this until recently. ::)
However I guess with the latest release (3.0.8.0) this could be possible. ::) :'
Though with all of PCC options it may be slower to respond.

Will it lock up like the AHCMD?
Time will tell, I guess it depends on how you use it!

3.0.8.0 doesn't have the softstart options that the newest SDK should have but feature builds will!
Well if I remember to build with the Newest SDK! rofl

Ok, I finally go PcC to run.  My fault, I thought I had .net

?1;  What is RealVNC for?
?2:  What is :1/31/2011 7:04:27 AM RECVRF M1 SOCIALITE,EB,7B,5D,E4,84

1/31/2011 7:04:27 AM RECVRF M1 SOCIALITE,EB,7B,5D,E4,84

It is a report when I open my DS10 and I have "log X10 signal(non security) checked and below the "log all X10 signals is unchecked.

?3:  What am I missing on "Sound triggers"?  I have a wav file entered on A7 "ON" and also "Brighten".  I get a log of A7 Brighten, but no wav file played.

?4   Why does it not load Mary, Mike, and/or the other voices I downloaded?

I've got a myriad of others, but these are the hot items at the moment.

RealVNC can be used to log into your PC from any where It isn't included you have to down load it.
I had added the option to start it with promise from them that video feeds were in the works as well as some other options!
These haven't materialized. Yet!
What is :1/31/2011 7:04:27 AM RECVRF M1 SOCIALITE,.......
that is a signal your getting from a security module, funny thing is not all will send this! B:(
This will be seen if you have AHP configured to transceiver house code M.
I've reported this to X10 As a bug as have others.
If you look at the AHP Activity monitor you'll see some strange receives as well that corespond to the M1  SOCIALITE,.......
As for the Wav file not firing I'll look into it. Is the file in the sounds folder?
Have you spelled it the same? It is case sensitive.
Since the voices are part of windows. Have you rebooted since you installed them!
Although I'll answer Questions in this forum about PCC issues.
You may get a quicker responces at the forum setup for it!

OK I just tested the sound triggers on my XP SP3 system and the sound triggers work fine maybe your forgetting to add the trigger or save.
Note: PCC may need to restart for that setting and I missed coding for that.

I have a new XP system Up and running now so I'll add the extra voices to it and see if there is a issue there as well.
However I suspect it is a restart issue as well probably windows unless PCC was open when you added the voices then it needed a restart to detect the new voices.
If you haven't read the manual you may wish to give it a glance over.
Although it isn't complete it should help with further setup issues you may have.

Just install the Microsoft Speech SDK 5.1 ( I realize this is a old SDK) but it gave me the extra voices for PCC!

I always get requests for features that this program already has.
I've even got responces like "It can do that??" or "When did that get added?"
I've created a version history on my forum that outlines some of the Adds and Fixes.
With the addition of X10Relayer and Usercommands you really have a lot of possibilities.
So users have even come up with uses that I hadn't though of.
Want to expand your uses for PCC?
Post what your doing and someone else may post what they're doing giving you a idea, or me. rofl
Recently users of iHouse have found this even helps expand on it!

I've run into a couple road blocks that are leading me to consider my alternatives.  I have my own AHK script that controls my motion sensors and associated lights.  It works well and does not need replacing.  However, I want to add a couple things and am thinking about using a single package to do it all.  If I can't find one that does it all, I'll consider adding new scripts or a premade app.

So, can you tell me if PCC can do the following:
  • Check for emails or Google Voice SMS messages and respond to their content (like text2x10 or starbotcontrol)?
  • Natively support reading text files in some defined format containing weather sensor data (temp, humidity, etc) and respond to given logic triggers
  • Control lights based on complex (by AHP standards) motion sensor/switch setup

The most important factor in this is stability/reliability.  The WAF has just gotten high enough that the HA project is no longer on the negative side of the scale!

PCC can do most of what your asking however to increase responce times some less used options are going to moved to plug-ins.
It can check email however just POP3 addresses.
It can respond to them in some fashion however that is limited right now.
It can read textfiles and write them with the PLug-in X10weatherwatch there is the  option to respond to up to 16 conditions from a CSV file which PCC can create from info pulled from the web.
It can control lights tripped by various things motion sensors is the simplest but any RF possible X10 signal other then security ones.
As for stable it has improved dramaticaly with the last few updates.
However I'm the creator so don't take my word for it, download a copy and see for your self what it will do.
Many are surprised.
There are a few options that are locked that only donators have and extras that the plug-ins provide.

Is there a list of what free webmail services PCC works well with?  I'm finding it difficult to access gmail with the standard procedures that I've found using AutoHotKey, so I'm not sure if that means google simply locked things down.

I ran into issues with accessing some google things if your using IE.
it wants you to use a opensource program to access a lot of its stuff. If your using IE try FireFox.
Most free email isn't pop3
Usualy who ever your ISP is supplies a pop3 account.

I'm not referring to using IE or any web browser.  I've been using AutoHotKey (the programming/scripting language).  They have examples that worked in the past, but I've found that if you can trust one thing to be true...it's that Google will break any tools you write and then make something themselves that does the same thing.   rofl

That's true,  Check at the Ihouse forum.  www.ihousehomeautomation.com  some of the users there are big into autohotkey they might have some good resources for you to try.
