HELP!!! Wall Switch problems

I just got my X10 and the AM466 works (loud but works).

Then I tried installed a wall switch and they work with manual control but not with the X10 program.  Find Computer sees them but will not control the switch.  I've tried using a WS12A, and 3 different RWS17.  I connected the switch per the diagram (red caped, blue to live, and black to light). 

PLEASE HELP!!!!!! I'm leaving in a few days, and would like this working.

Not much information to go on, but it sounds like you could have a phase coupling or noise issue.
