Using X10 for a non-mains powered switch
« on: August 24, 2009, 03:02:51 AM »

I have recently installed a new gas heater that has a wall switch that simply turns on a valve to allow the gas to flow through which is then lit by a pilot light.

I want to automate this with X10 but don't want to run mains power through the heater as a result.

Does anyone know of a solution for this? Something that can simply flick on / off a contact switch would be perfect but I haven't been able to find anything obvious for doing this.

Is the valve in a control voltage circuit? Like a 24 volt valve or a line voltage rated valve?
