MT12A Timer Blinking after setting

Hi,
I have a MT12A Timer that isn't working right.  When I set the time it works for a bit then starts blinking.  Anyone have any ideas why it is doing this?  Is it toast?

Do you have any backup batteries in it? Should not make a difference if there was no power blips.
If it does it with batteries in it to eliminate power blips. Then it does sound like it maybe defective.
If memory serves me that model has an external supply. You may want to double check the connector is firmly in the MT12A from the wall wart.
