looking for a specific control item
« on: November 07, 2009, 10:23:40 PM »

Hello again everyone:

Was wondering if anybody has seen any type of device that when triggered it would send x10 commands of ON and OFF, to trigger lights to flash and sirens to sound without the use of a alarm base unit.

I am trying to just make a simple alarm with just one or two sensors, and upon that sensor being tripped would like a module of some sort start sending the codes to flash lights and sound the sirens.  I know the main alarm system does all this already but say you had a different alarm system or just a simple one like i explained, and wanted the same effect as the base unit.  Do they make a module or device that can do this?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

It's called a PowerFlash Module. And they can really be handy!! Closed dry contacts (or low voltage contact) will trigger a selected responce.. including flashing of a set X10 H/U code.

I just picked up four (my 1st Ebay buy) for cheap to use as part of my S.A.R.A. project.

Thanx i actually have one in my box of x-10 stuff and never used it so wasn't even familiar with its use.  I was just reading about it though, and was going to post nevermind. But as usual the help received on this forum is far faster than my reading. So thank you again for all the help.

B:( One should know their inventory and should also know what the stuff does. Don't just buy because the price is good, otherwise you end up with boxes of stuff and don't even know what half of it does. Like me.

Well the package deals are so good. Extra stuff in a box is normal for me anyway and yes I sometimes forget a goodie.  rofl

I have three "bankers boxes" full of X10 goodies. Some pretty old: Like a 16 button "Palm Pad" and 256 code tranceiver X10 made for Nutone. A 256 code telephone responder X10 made for Leviton, and more than one "scratch - n -  dent"  CM15A...someday I'm gonna eBay it all....but I have said that before.  :'

That's crazy talk!

I love the deals... even if I don't have an immediate need for everything I buy. I have a very large plastic tub... that I can no longer even come close to getting all my X10 stuff in. I have another box (cardboard) with cameras in it. It's a GOOD thing.
