Macros do not work!
« on: December 10, 2009, 05:44:07 PM »

I can not get macros to work. I made a simple 1 light macro. P1 on, turns on 1 light. P1 off turns off that 1 light. Saved them, downloaded. When I press P1 on my palmpad while monitoring the P code on my screen; I see both the on and off macros flash. If I erase the off macro and hit p1 on, it works but appears to send the codes twice. What gives?

It doesn't even work if I press the macro button on the screen. Also when I click on clear interface memory and then look at the hardware config, it still shows macro percentages.

I just tried more things. When I run the macro from the PC I see the A2 light switch turn on, but the actual light never turns on. Its like the command is never being sent out on the line.

I did down grade AHP to the .326 version and now my Christmas light macro runs much faster. All I can say is this thing is really pi$$ing me OFF.

Just changed the house code to O. It will work from the AHP screen but not the remote. I see the macro button flash when I use the remote and the light switch icon turns on, but the actual light stays off. Makes no sense to me.

Did you try to un-install the driver for usb.  What windows are you running. Did you check the run from interface button and load it or vise versa. You may need to un-install the driver and program to start over so the driver matches the software ver.

I did not uninstall the driver. I did notice that after downgrading AHP that 2 other macros I have work very well now. On house code A16 I have a simple all on and all off set to A16 on and off. Those before would turn the lights on or off 1 at a time. Not a all off or all on at once. Now it is all at once. So that works better.

I did set the macros to run from machine and then from interface. Didn't matter either way. After more testing I found that the new macro I was trying to build will not turn on my new soft start switches from the palm pad. The older instant ones work fine. Get this though all work if I run the macro from AHP they all come on, but only the older instant switches work when I activate the macro from my palm pad.

I will uninstall the driver and see what happens.

Fixed, after much more searching and reading I was able to find the answer.

One of two things make it work right;
1. go into tool, preferences, macros and set it to send an on instead of 100%
2. change module type from wall switch to 2 way lamp module

Why can't things just work like they should!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Things used to work until boneheads at X-10 made changes in their dimmer modules in 2007 without insuring they were backward compatible.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it doesn't work.
X10 on Windows is like that.
