Macro overriding my manual switch control
« on: December 14, 2009, 01:44:23 PM »

Hi,

I have almost got everything working as I would like however I am still having one issue. I have set my kitchen and lobby lights to come on at 20% if the time is after 10pm at night and an eagle eye sensor is triggered. This works great. However, sometimes I want the lights on at 100% after 10pm at night if I am still doing something in the kitchen. In this case I turn the light on full brightness and then as soon as the sensor is triggered is dims in back down to 20%.

How can I stop the Macros overriding my manual commands here?

Many thanks again.

Hello Tevor,

Your motion sensor has a night/day sensor that reports at the device base address + 1.  Most people consider this an annoyance, but you may be able to make use of it here.

If your motion sensor can see (sense) the lighting in the room, use the day/night output to qualify and disable your macro.  You may find it helpful to put a dummy module at the base + 1 address and test the state of the dummy module.

I don't know what your setup is. You can connect the light to XPDM module trigged only by macros via a CM11A or CM15A using XPT4 or PHC01 keypads. You would use the Smart Macros to not trigger the motion sensor when you controlled on the light from the keypad either with flags or if the housecode fr your macro is the monitored housecode you can base your condition on that too.

I did the opposite with my porch light. It is on a timer when when it is turned on via the timer, the XPT4 button for it does not let the light be turned off.
