My cm11a has been running for umpteen years....I don't change the program often.

It did not like 2010.....none of the events went off after midnight and I can't get the interface to comm.

Any one else have the same issue?

You may want to try disconnecting it from the AC power and removing the batteries.
Then wait a few minutes and try it from scratch.

tried that and the reset procedure....no luck

Can't remember how old the macros are...maybe the daylight table ran out of entries?

Timed events not functioning happens almost every year.

The CM11A's calendar is merely a day counter which rolls over after a count of 366 days.  ActiveHome stores timers for only 365 days in non-leap years like 2009, so timers cease to function on Jan 1st of the following year.  On Jan 2nd the counter will have rolled over to zero and timers will start working again. although one day off.   (Since Dawn and Dusk change so little from year to year, you probably wouldn't notice anything amiss until the changeover to Daylight Time.)

However if ActiveHome can't communicate or reload your schedule, this indicates a different problem.

Thinking back to my Active Home/CM11A days, I never remember the January 1 miss.  If the OP just got a new PC and reloaded AH on it, the non-communication problem may be old "Comm ports have vanishing problems under new operating system" problem.  Active Home is so old, it's like trying to use CP290 under Windows 7.

Yes, and especially annoying when you're expecting your X10-controlled coffee pot to have your coffee ready following a night of New Year's Eve revelry.

The old ActiveHome has problems with newer versions of Windows (XP, Vista), even if the PC has an RS232 serial port.   But it will usually work if you use a USB-Serial adapter and can configure it to COM1, 2, 3, or 4.

You may want to consider upgrading to Active Home Pro and the CM15 USB interface.  Beware of one thing: X10 is sending AHP version 3.236 to new purchasers. If you do decide to buy AHP, the instructions of how to downgrade to 3.228 are on these forums.
