Hi, duck69 is my forum name and I have been using X10 for a time now with Mac computers.

Thanks to Tuicemen, Mac is now listed as part of this forum. Thank you Tuicemen !

Presently, I am using an iMac intel with Indigo (control software from Perceptive Automation), Phlink (telephony software from Ovolab) & Timbuktu Pro (remote control software from Netopia). As soon as the weather here clears a little, I will be installing a XTB-IIR (from Jeff Volp @ http://jvde.us/ ). At present I don't have any security cameras but may install a couple of them later on.

Also, I am considering using my 12" PowerBook 1.33 MHz as my home server.

Any comments and or questions are most welcomed.  >!

Hey Duck,

I didn't want you to think I was too slow in the head, I just hadn't read this post before reaching out on the use of cameras with a MAC.  I'll assume for now that you haven't yet had a chance to work with that end of things yet.  Maybe I'll be able to get some solid from X10 in the next day or two.

Thanks,

Mark

Marquisx what software are you using or plan on using for X10 control?
most will send the commands to the camera from the Cm15A
you can view the cams with any web cam software.

 Marquisx,
I just posted a reply to your inquiry on the forum @ General Category / Mac/Linux & Open Source and the X10 Home / Re: Mac Life.

Even though I don't have cameras @ this time, I believe the information that I posted  will be of help as I have looked into cameras previously.

OK, so the security system does work with a Mac?  Is that correct?  Also, I was looking at the iweb application and I am not sure if this will work with the X10 camera.  It comes with its software that says you do not have to configure firewall or router usb/firewire/built in webcam. "if you are connecting to an ethernet/WiFi camera, simply enter the camera's MJPEG/JPEG URL.  I have no idea what all this means but, I need to know if this systems work.  Do you have any suggestions or idea's, or experience with this?
