Defective receiver

I just received my X10 wireless audeo/video sender and receiver and it does not work. I feel they should send me one that works with a return shipping label to return the defective part. They said I must first ship them the defective parts first. I only had it 1 day. This is not a good company. They do not stand behind the product.

Most companies will not ship out a replacement without first receiving the defective unit.
What guaranty do they have that you will return the other or that it is indeed defective and your just not trying for a freebie.?
Chances are it works just not the way or as well as you expected it to.

Request a RMA and send in the defective unit! ;)
They will refund your money if you don't wish to try another one!

I have never had to return a defective product first to get one that works. You are incorrect with your idea of "Most companies will not ship out a replacement without first receiving the defective unit"   They have your order information to protect themselves from theft.

I really wanted this product. I know it will work, I know how to use it, I just have a defective receiver. The rest of it will work. I am not trying to rip anyone off. I would have had other people buy this product if it worked correctly. If this company fixes my problem I would have at least 3 more orders for this product.

Some companies give you a choice. Smarthome will send a replacement when the defective unit is received back or Cross Ship. In that case they charge you for the replacement and refund it when the defective one is received.

Many companies will not send a replacement with out getting the bad one back. Some even test the original to see if it is defective before sending the replacement.

You are wrong that most companies wont ship out a replacement. I buy alot of products online and have never had to send it back first, NEVER. If they paid shipping I might have considered it. Like I said before, I really wanted this item.

Consider yourself lucky. My experience has been the opposite. I just had to send a defective timer back to an Ebay vendor on my dime before he would ship replacement. But vendor said he would refund shippping. His explaination was: less than 50% customers return claimed  "defective" products even when he supplied a prepaid shipping label. Dishonest vendors...dishonest customers...whaddya gonna do.

Anyway, X10 said they want defective sender back before sending replacement, it is difficult to fight city hall, so send it back and ask for them to refund your shipping.

I guess your memory is fading you..I was awaiting my orders..I ordered the 99.00 set up with one b&w camera, then instead of buying another camera I then ordered the 49.00 set up to include the other b&w set up...a tm751 a ur73a-2 a vr36a a xx20a times 2 acm19a a ms14a sw26a a va12a vr36a..Is that enough info for you to tray to virus it up for me? I mean seeing how you are the one that was so afraid 0f my postings being seen and all..You know that could care less about the person getting running and up? You was more concerned about someone seeing my posts and not ordering that junk that didn't work nor come complete with what I purchased? Or would you like me to repost them so you can see for yourself?To include the e mail you sent me all worried about what others may see? I never emailed you. I did reply to a PM you sent to me.

I spent some considerable time and personal risk to protect freedom of speech in my country. BTW.. That is NOT an American right by law.. but:  truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights I never have understood why people confuse GOD given rights... with calling other people names on an Internet forum. This forum (and likely most others) has a posted etiquette. Berating fellow forum members with name calling (like whiner and whining) is clearly unexceptable.

So hows that camera working out for you?

Dave, If your referring to me on how the camera is working out, it isn't.I was shy one piece of my order and got disgusted with this bickering, deleted my original postings about being dissastified with this from the beginning when they sent me the itemized confirmation without some of the products I ordered on it..Then when I came to the forum and stated my dissastifaction I felt ganged up on and adrenalin kicked in triggering the "fight or flight" syndrome, and not being one to run I felt I had to defend myself and felt ganged up on since then.When I received my order and all this about paying shipment  to send it back, I merely sold both orders for half of what I paid taking a loss rather than continue this...Then I held off and seen others commenting on not getting part of thier items being shipped and felt impelled to once again take a stance and state my opinion..actually I am tirwed of this mess..I sold my items and never even attempted to hook them up over this mess..I am trying to dig somewhere deep inside myself and trying to look at both sides.I may..I said may actually reconsider once again ordering some more once I see the person I sold my items too SUCCESSFULLY get them going ..but untill then..I am just through with this bickering..and want to hang out in the forum and check things out..I am through with this bickering, and hopefully others will see this too..This isn't good for any of us..When i see the items work..I may once again order some more..but not if this bickering continues..at least directed toward me..Thanks

When you originally shared that with me in the PM you sent me.... I reviewed every post in every thread you had posted in.. since you had first posted. (I often review a long thread or a series of threads trying to help find hidden clues to resolve a problem). In your case... NO ONE had made any negative comments. I don't doubt your feelings.... but they are your own.. I could not see where anyone here could have caused them.

When I received my order and all this about paying shipment  to send it back, I merely sold both orders for half of what I paid taking a loss rather than continue this...

Then I was correct. You don't use any X10 products.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience here, but this forum is for users, and we try to help them out.  Sorry to hear about the bickering and the incomplete order.

Your complaints are duly and truly noted and will be well recommended to others.  With that being said, is there any way we can help you now that you have abandoned the prospect of using the product?
