Oh come on. You only repeated the same worn out misstatements that were said nearly forty years ago.
I saw no attempt at dialog. It's Undeniable the industrial revolution was a result of the "new world" having too few people... and even fewer with actual skills. The shipment of goods from overseas... was cost prohibitive. The industrial revolution rightfully began... before the first public library. Later... Henry Ford perfected the use of unskilled labor with his version of the assembly line.
We no longer have a population shortage. Nor do we have a demand (or need) for large numbers of unskilled workers. The industrial revolution died a slow and peaceful death. I spent 15 years of my life in a factory.. 5 of those years as a local union president. Our factories are.. and will be.. missed by many.
In 1982 Bill Gates introducted a new product and economic driver to America, Canada... and the world. Windows... ultimately increased our productivity and enriched our lives... as well as our bank accounts.
But nothing lasts forever. The power of the digital revolution seems to also be winding down. These up and down cycles... are as old as history itself. But then....
so is finger pointing.
