Ok, so I have a timer to turn on a socket rocket, and to turn it off. Everynight at 9:45 it should come on, and go off at 5:45 am, it will not work, however, I can turn it off and on with the IR545 (Or whatever it is) with my universal remote, it will not, however work from the computer interface. If I log into the interface it "says" it's on (or off) when it should be. I have recreated the timer, and also replaced the batteries in the interface, and I have removed all timers/macros in the interface, and re-downloaded them. same thing

Any suggestions?

Since you have fixed timer problems before maybe this is a phase or noise problem between the CM15A and the SR? Any new noise sources?

I thought the same thing, but there isn't I even went around and unplugged everything I could think off

If the IR545 and the CM15A are on different branch circuits. You maybe looking at a power line signal problem. Like a noise maker or signal sucker?
Have you done any signal conditioning in your installation?

Common question these days. What version of AHP are you using?

Not sure if this make a difference, but I wanted to throw out the idea...

Your timer crosses the midnight timeline.  I heard that some people have issues with this and/or a timer that exceeds 4 hours.  Does anyone know if this could affect the timer?   ???
What has your home done for you today?

This timer has worked in the past, it started doing this about 3 weeks ago, I have been trying to troubleshoot it since then.

If you have one, can you see if a mini timer can handle the job?

If you plug in the mini timer in the same place as your CM15a and it works you can maybe say AHP is the problem.

Also if it doesn't work, you can try moving the mini timer around to different receptacles to find the 'sweet spot' as there maybe a phase, noise, or signal suck problem.

Timers can have problems (so I have heard) when they cross midnight. Try deleting.. then rewriting your macro so it turns OFF in the AM... then turns ON in the PM. That way... the same macro doesn't cross midnight.

How in the world do I do that? it still crosses midnight, now matter what I do.

If something turns off at 5 AM (timer starts at 5 AM with an Off action) and turns on at 10 PM (timer stops at 10 PM with an On action).... when did it cross midnight? But I guess it may actually need to be two separate timers.

OHHH Ok, two timers, let me try that tonight.

My system - AHP 3.228, CM15A, Windows XP SP3

I have 3 timers for my outside lights controlled by XPS3 wall switches and they are stored in the interface.  They currently turn on about 5:45 PM and turn off at about 7 AM daily.  They have worked continuously, mostly, for a few years.  I initially created these timers with AH (not AHP) using a CM11A.  One of them misses a cycle occasionally. But it is furtherest from the CM15A and the breaker panel and I don't worry about it.  In my setup, going past midnight has not been a problem for these timers.

  • Did anything, at all, happen in your home/office that had an impact on any electrical circuit?
  • Are you able to create a working timer for anything else with your current setup?  Set the timer to go on and off every few minutes - it'll shorten your testing time.
  • If you move the socket rocket to another location, are you able to create a working timer for it?
  • If you move the socket rocket to another location, can you control it from AHP directly?

so I tried the 2 timer method and it didnt work.

Every other timer works fine, other socket rockets, etc.

What's weird is I have a SR227 in my Bathroom (it has a night light plugged into the controlled outlet) with a timer attached that turns it on one hour before dusk and off one hour after dawn (the timer crosses midnight) with ZERO problems.  That timer, BTW, dates from the late 1980's, it's been transferred from a CP290 to a CM11A to a CM15A over the years.
I don't SELL this stuff... BUT I sure do ENJOY using it!!!

Could it be that there is a noisy CFL in the socket rocket?

would explain things, and point back to Dave W's initial assessment.
