Motion Sensors
« on: April 25, 2010, 02:20:35 AM »

Question 1: I need a motion sensor that works during the day. I need to turn on air filters when I leave the bedroom but I don't want them to activate at night when I'm asleep. Is there a sensor that does that?

Question 2: Is the MS10A the only motion sensor that works with the DS7000?

Why not just use a timer?

I don't think.... motion sensors are that accurate... for a bedroom. Although I've never tried a sensor in the bedroom... I have tried and used them elsewhere... with mixed results. Besides... the motion sensors work opposite of what you desire. Motion sensors in their native state turn ON... when motion is detected (someone IN the bed) and OFF when motion stops (when you leave).

Question 2: Is the MS10A the only motion sensor that works with the DS7000?

Besides being a security alarm... your security console also transceives the house code/address set on the console. So... the regular old EagleEye (MS14A) can be used with the console... TO TURN ON LIGHTS only. The MS10A works with the alarm as a security detector (alarm only) no lights.

What you need.... is some processing power that will allow you to construct some macros (rules) that can be based on both time and motion. X10... makes the AHP (Active Home Pro) which is software that you (load on a PC then) use to create the marcos.. and an interface (CM15A) that then plugs into the wall to work as a transceiver with memory and smarts.

You will be amazed at what can be done with AHP and the CM15A.
