Can you create an executable (.exe) from a macro?
« on: June 22, 2010, 12:55:05 AM »

Hi all,

??? I was wondering if you can create an executable (.exe) file from a macro?  So, I can run Windows scheduler on the executable and I don't have to have another program running simultaneously.  My PC is tight on resources and the I did not want to have one more program running all the time.

If you say I can't  -:), I will create a task to start AHP a few minutes before I have to run the macro scheduled inside AHP and that will take care of it.  After I run, I can program Windows scheduler to kill the application and free up resources but before I go through this work around, I wanted to check with all of you if there is a way to directly create an executable from a macro and have it run independently from AHP.

Thanks for your help,  >!

If you are trying to trigger a macro that is stored in the CM15A interface and not one that has to run on the computer with AHP running, you could create a Windows shortcut like I show in this thread:  http://forums.x10.com/index.php?topic=20344.msg114788#msg114788  Then have the Windows Scheduler run the shortcut.

Might that work?

In the real world, the only constant is change.
