Will this keep my teenagers from sneaking out??

I'm considering the basic security system for our basement.  Our kids are getting older & more brave & I want to make sure they don't do any unnecessary toilet-papering around the neighborhood during sleepovers.

Will this do the trick?  Or, is there another option you would suggest?

1 Wall Mount Bracket (87-WMB) $10.00
1 Door/Window Sensor (DS10A) $19.99 (actually one for each of the 6 windows down there)
1 Security Keychain Remote (KR10A) $19.99
1 Voice Dialer Console (PS561)

I DON'T want to be blown out of my bed in the middle of the night with a siren.  I'd just like a chime or even calling my cell phone if they open a door/window.

I'm assuming I can't control the volume on the siren without disarming it physically (voiding the warranty).

If there is a better option, please let me know what you think.

And no, my kids aren't too naughty.  But I like to stay one step ahead of them :)

How about a powerflash module, magentic contacts, and a chime module?

also buy your x10 from eBay...DS10a's are typically $9.00 on there

I am a big user and fan of X10... and I have a love for technology in general as well. But... I don't think alarms will even slow down a kid in the teen years. Best of luck!!
Home Automation is an always changing technology

+1.

Squeaky stairs and knowing what Dad would do to me, kept me in check.
