Free Mystery Gift
« on: July 31, 2010, 01:35:17 PM »

Alright, we have all seen the pop-up ad:

"Call now, and we will send you a free mystery gift with your order!"

Well who ordered, and what did you get?   ;)

I'm going to order soon, I'm just waiting for my last order to come...   ::)

A long time ago, I got a cm19 as a mystery gift.  No use for the rascal(s), but they shipped me 2 or 3 in the course of 6 months.  I have since sent 2 of them on to friends to play with.

Free gift? Yes.

The mystery was figuring out what to do with them.  I prefer CM15's hooked to my machines, and despise the TM751.  They made nice paper weights/dust collectors.

I junked my 751's and only use RR501 transceivers. X10 should dump the 751 and make only the RR501.

Although the TM751 is not polite and has no power line receiver in it. A test of a new style one with surface mounted controller and an IC receiver subassembly. Beats my few years old RR501 for RF reception distance. It is basically the same receiver IC used in the CM15A with out the CM15As poor reception problems.

Has anyone else received a "mystery gift" and if so what was it?

They just offered me a motion sensor, socket rocket or a palmpad...

I ended up getting a [like new] socket rocket -  Haven't tested it out yet...   :'

They offered you a choice?

Yes.  I started talking to "Greg" and trying to name my own price...  All I got was them to add the IWatchout to the CM15A like new deal...  For some reason they are being stingy with the add-in software lately...  Then I asked him what the "free mystery gift" was, and he said either a socket rocket, TM751, palmpad or a motion sensor... So I have plenty of all of them, but figured the socket rocket would "go" before the rest, so I got that one...   ;)

Hmmm....I think it was the same guy who told me there's 10 items that they can choose from for the mystery gift, but he wouldn't tell me what they were. I wonder what the other 6 things are....unless of course it's another x10 internal communications screw-up, and the guy didn't know what he was talking about.
