I recently put my DS7000 console back in service (after 8+ years of sitting on the shelf). The console is located in my bedroom. Whenever any x10 RF sending device is used (e.g.palm pad, keychain, firecracker, MS14, etc.) I hear noise in the horn of the DS7000 console for as long as the sending device is active, which sometimes is loud enough to wake me up. The noise is 'static' but I can pick out the difference in sound patterns depending on the H|U address being sent. I assume that the RF signal is being coupled into the circuitry of the DS7000 - probably because of aging caps that are past their useful life.
Has anyone seen this kind of behavior before?
Anyone know of specific solutions? e.g. what devices have weakened.
A schematic of this beast would help as well. anyone know where one is located?
(for more than a couple of reasons, relocating the DS7000 to another location is not possible...)
