You opened ActiveHome Pro, clicked file, new, and recreated all of your modules and macros?
Clearing the interface and downloading again won't fix the issue, it is most likely a corrupt .ahx file which holds your entire setup.
If you have a backup of your .ahx file, I would try restoring it. If not, try a clean file with one or two modules and see if ActivePhone then displays the labels.

Sounds like that's what's happened to @RKGoodwin. He tried to merge hsi old file in, but it doesn't work then.

@RKGoodwin:
It happens to all of us sooner or later. It helps to save an extra copy of your .AHX file every now and then, before you make major changes (just in case you have to back track to before an error).

strange issue with this app...hope someone can help!

install went fine...AHPro interface has no issues...firefly remotes work fine
but...
the 'virtual' palmpad remote does nothing.  labels show up..click button to turn light off and nothing.
  any ideas?

thanks!!!

@1eyedjack;
If it's showing up with module names, it should be working. Check the Activity Monitor on your AHP PC (press F2 in AHP) and see if anything shows up when you press buttons in ActivePhone.

X10 is NOT "plug-n-play"   You do have to work with it.   In our electronic age, there are probably dozens of devices that put noise on the powerline that block X10 signals.

One of the biggest noise producers are TVs and computers.

I have an x10 system that works fine, but every computer is on a noise filter and you may need a phase coupler so X10 signals can cross the phases.  Most houses get AC power at 220 volts and in the house the breaker boxes are divided so each phase is 110 volts.
I don't SELL this stuff... BUT I sure do ENJOY using it!!!

Thanks Dan.  I know it isnt plug-n-play.

My frustration is from the fact that I am using a browser, on the same PC as the AHPro interface, and trying to control devices in the same room.  All other methods work, i.e. AHPro interface, palmpad remote, keychain remote, and the Firefly HTPC remote I use for controlling lights and my pvr.

Have you looked at the software download area to see if a recent update has happened?
I know there where some recent ones in the download section.

yep...I have the latest .. 3.293
Okay. Not to worry. A few things we've determined:

  • The PalmPad shows up, so content is getting to the browser from AHP, with module names
  • The modules and AHP work fine, but commands don't get through from ActivePhone to your AHP setup

A few more things to try:
1) Do you have any security software installed? CA and Comodo security products are the worst offenders for this.
2) When you click an On/Off button, does the little red light on the PalmPad blink?
3) Pick a lamp that is close to you which you can see. Write down it's House Code and Unit Code. Fill that in to the following URL : http://127.0.0.1:8777/image?Act=sendplc&State=0&X10Cmd=On&X10Addr=A1

That URL, with the right HC/UC of your device, will turn the module on. Try it and see if it works.

Report back to us with your results, and we'll be able to take it from there  :)

A rail friend of mine used to work for CA,  he left when all they put out was junk.  He used to run a small software outfit that was bought by CA, they treated him fine for the first year, then left when they changed the software to one with more bugs than a beehive.
