hmmmm... $64 or 4 outputs,  $ 159 for 8..... $ 199 for 16(all at one location)...

wouldn't it make better sense just modifying a $ 4 appliance module with 15amp relay?  You can place it where ever you need it then too....

Economically, Yes.
But these boards are good where you have space limitations (8 Universal module would make a pretty large package) or have need for many relay closures i.e routing audio,  large security system, or zoning a HVAC system, etc.

yep, good point,  I was thinking one would want the 8 outputs at different locations around the homestead not at one location.

Yeah you make a good point. But what about the set up that cannot send powerline signals where you want them or the RF can't get that far. This might be another alternative if the software uses a the network instead. Just a thought..
