so i've had this problem and tried everything.  I have two standard wall switches for my two outside lights.  I want them to turn on for night.  I set up a simple timer, I test from within ahp and both lights turn on and off.  download... then one of my two lights works perfect, and the other one does not turn on the lights, however if i turn them on manually it will turn them off in the morning. 
I threw away one wall switch assuming it was bad.  The exact same thing with the new one.
so I made a second timer on a different channel, I even set it to 5 minutes before and after the 1st so theres no interference.  The same thing happens!!  The first light still behaves fine and the second, now completely seperate light still only turns off, not on! 
I have it set for on instead of 100%
i tried different locations

what gives here?  why can i turn it on manually inside ahp but not with the timer that still turns it off.

What revision of AHP software?

You mentioned downloading the timers. So you have the CM15A interface in your setup and not the CM19A with TM751.

If the switches are soft start have you called them a LM14A in the module description?

The most likely cause is a signal sucker or line noise!
Start looking at what else is on that circit.
Try turning on when you normaly wish it to turn off then look at what else is on that circit at the lights on time you want.

When you say you can turn both lights ON "manually" do you mean from AHP, or manually at the switch (local control)?

Also is this right: everything works fine in the morning?

It could be a noise problem like Tuiceman said,  although I would suspect a timer problem IF you can turn the lights on from AHP...all depends on what you mean by "manually".

Can you turn them both on and off from the AHP software (using the on-screen buttons, not a timer) at night?
What about during the day?

If you can control the lights from AHP during the day, but not at night, then you might be getting noise from something that is only on at night.
I had this problem over the summer. It turned out to be a CFL bulb across the street! The bulb was putting out enough noise to interfere with my system.
I bought my neighbor a new CFL bulb.

I can't say that I have tried it at all hours of the day, but if it's that picky how would I ever even know what the problem is, or furthermore how to solve it?

I have CFLs all over the place in my house.  My other programs and timers work. 

This circuit is dedicated for only the ouside lights.

Do us a favor:  Post the contents of the timer that does not work and we can see what the problem is.

OK CM15A and AHP can control ALL lights when manually switched from screen regardless of time of day(?).
Only one outside light is a problem and only when a timer trys to turn it ON in the evening. It turns OFF correctly by a timer in the morning(?).

Only two things I can think of:
1. Like Dan said, something wrong with the timer. Either post it, or delete it (whether it looks right or not) and completely reconstruct.
2. You have a noise source on the same circuit as the outside light that operates only at night.

i have a suspicion that ahp turn modules in timers on with an extended code, instead of a simple "on" command. even if the box is ticked (on in place of bright 100%).

Can anyone verify?

I'd say wait and see if broken08 either posts the contents of the timer or reports a deletion and rebuild worked.

Not extended codes but is a address and a series of brights for dimmers and a plain on and off for relay types.

B1 is a WS12A dimmer type switch

well, i don't know how to post the contents of the timer.  I did do a rebuild without any success.
In the bottom of the timer box there are checkboxes for "store in interface" and "repeat", should those be checked?  What do they do?

Not sure about repeat but it may send the commands more than once.
Store in interface allows you to load the timer in the CM15A and turn the computer off.

If you don't check "Store in interface" the macro only runs from the computer.

"Repeat" is to send the command twice for communication redundacy.

Hold your cursor over the check box, a balloon will pop up explaining function. Also explained in the Help files and the Owners Manual.

From my experience, "Repeat" actually repeats the command THREE times. ;-)
