What is Mouse House?
« on: December 17, 2010, 05:29:18 PM »

From what I've read, it seems mouse house is a 'mac' x10 software. The site explains that a cable (CKllA) i think is required to plug into your mac to make the system work...

However, I already have a cm15a plugged to my electrical plug (near my electrical panel). Is there a wireless hardware solution I can connect to the cm15a that will communicate wirelessly to my mac based software?

Thank-you

Sure, there is "Wireless USB Hub" adaptors all over the place. Check Best Buy, Ebay, etc.

If looking for Mac software, investigate "Xtension" from Sand Hill Engineering. I used it years ago and liked it very much.

No, I didn't mean a wireless USB that I couldn't connect my cm15a to...

Besides the cm15a ( that hasn't had a software update nor hardware change in years ). Is there even another unit similar to the cm15a that can be used via wireless? Or networked through a router.

I have not seen any newer Mac programs for the CM15A but X10 has updated the Windows AHP numerous times recently.

Well that's one problem I seem to have.....My version is 3.236.

Everytime I go to look for updates, The pop-up says 3.236 is the latest version and I'm using the latest release (mybe not in all those words) but that's the version I have. It won't let me update higher than that.
Now, I got my AHP from a reseller on ebay years ago...and...I've blocked all x10 emails from the x10 server as well because of all the spam they sent me. I even don't use myhouse online or any web based plug-in because of the mass amounts of advertising they sent me.....I simply had to cut x10 off.

Could this be maybe why I can't update in the last three years?

I agree. My 3.271 never said I had any updates either.
Had to find them on the software site myself.

from what I gather, mousehouse was a mac software that ran the old serial interface.  X10 sold it (the cm11) with a special mac cable, and pointed you to the mouse house site (www.mousehouse.net/se) for a software download.  It appears that the site is now just a parking space for the hosting company.

I can't find anything about mousehouse and the cm15a, but you know, those mouse's houses are tiny, and I may have overlooked it.

Google search found a trial Mouse House 2.0.6 for the real OLD CP290 and as you found. Eventually ended up on the parking space for the hosting company.

From what I read here and the sites, it looks like unless you have access to a Way-Bak Machine, you are out of luck as far as Mouse House and it only seemed to work with serial devices like the CP290 and the CM11A.

Damn!....I was hoping I could get away from my antique pc machine. I only turn it on to update timers on the cm15a. I was hoping x10 would write the software for a mac based osx.

Is there a mac version? I don't think so? However, I've seen another controller.....

http://www.smarthome.com/31276/INSTEON-X10-RF-Wireless-Sensor-Receiver-EZX10RF/p.aspx

and the mac software...

Not sure who's tried this stuff before but I may try it out if there is no mac solution for the cm15a?

Thinking Home is the only Mac OS X based program to actually write a schedule on to the CM15A.

The EZX10RF is not a controller.
It is an all address X10 transceiver. The added feature is it can take an X10 address and map it to an Insteon module linked to it.
