Thanks Noam
No I have not done that. do wall switches need also to be reclassified? So I need to buy a new V12A. Any way around that?

The dimmable switches also did not originally include the SoftStart function. The test is pretty simple. Turn the light on manually, or using a remote. If it comes on instantly, it is not a SoftStart module. If is dims up to full brightness, then it is SoftStart. Using the correct definition for your module should resolve the issue.
Unfortunately, the only solution I've seen for the VA11A with Windows 7 is to replace it with a VA12A. There was a hack to get the VA11A working on Vista, but it doesn't work for Windows 7.
If you bought your VA11A recently, you might be able to get X10 to exchange it for you. However, they probably would only do that within 30 days of purchase.
